Day1 - Arrive Mumbai
Traditional welcome on arrival at Mumbai international airport and transfer
to hotel
Day2 - Mumbai - Bhavnagar
Breakfast at Hotel. Relax the morning. In the afternoon transfer to domestic
airport to catch a flight to Bhavnagar, a sprawling industrial city and
an important trading post for cotton products. On arrival at Bhavnagar,
check into heritage hotel. Late in the evening, vist the Takhteshwar Temple
dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is built on a small hillock overlooking
the city and provides great views of the city and the Gulf of Cambay. Overnight
at hotel.
Day3 - Bhavnagar - Palitana - Lothal
After breakfast, leave on a full day guided excursion to Palitana situated
50-km southwest of Bhavnagar. Palithana is world renowed for its famous
863 Jain temples on hilltops. Late afternoon drive to Lothal, the ancient
Indus City. On arrival check into heritage hotel. Overnight at hotel
Day4 - Lothal - Ahmedabad
After breakfast, a half-day guided tours of the excavations at the ancient
Indus City of Lothal. Afternoon drive to Ahmedabad. The city of Ahmed Shah
is known for its rich past and its association with the Mahatma Gandhi.
The city offers the traveler a unique style of architecture, which is a
blend of Hindu and Islamic styles (Indo-Saracenic style of architecture).
On arrival check into hotel. The evening free for shopping. Overnight at
the hotel.
Day5 - Ahmedabad
Breakfast at hotel. A full day guided tour of Ahmedabad City. Visit Sabarmati
Ashram, the tombs of Ahmed Shah and his queens, Jama Masjid, Dada Hari-Wav
Step wells (one of the best in north India), and the Calico Museum of Textiles.
Overnight at hotel.
Day6 - Ahmedabad - Modhera - Udaipur
After breakfast, proceed to Modhera. Visit the Sun Temple that was built
in 1026 A.D. The temple stands high on a plinth overlooking a deep stoned-steeped
tank. Every inch of its edifice, both inside and outside is magnificently
carved with Gopds and Goddesses, birds, beasts and flowers. After lunch,
drive to Udaipur - the city of lakes. Udaipur is a vision in white. The
City of Dawn, surrounded by the ancient Aravali Mountains and set on the
edge of three lakes, is a brilliant kaleidoscope of narrow lanes flanked
by bright stalls, gardens, lakes, palaces and temples. Enjoy the evening
on the banks of the Lake Pichola and spend your time exploring the narrow
streets dotted with interesting shops. Overnight at hotel.
Day7 - Udaipur
Breakfast, full day guided sightseeing of the city including City Palace,
Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon-ki-Bari and a excursion to Eklingi, famous for
its Jain temples. Overnight at hotel.
Day8 - Udaipur - Chittorgarh
After breakfast, proceed for Chittorgarh - the well-established citadel
and the capital of Mewar rulers. On arrival check into the hotel for wash-n-change.
Then proceed on a guided tour of the Chittorgarh Fort, which stands 180
mtrs high with each stone narrating its own story. Overnight at hotel.
Day9 - Chittorgarh - Pushkar
Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to Pushkar. Visit the only temple of dedicated
to Lord Brahma (in India) is in Pushkar thus making Pushkar an important
pilgrimage city for Hindus. Evening free for relaxation. Overnight at hotel.
Day10 - Pushkar - Jaipur
Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to Jaipur- the Pink City of Rajasthan.
Upon arrival in Jaipur, transfer to the hotel for wash 'n' change. Later,
guided half-day city tour of Jaipur covering Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds),
City Palace, Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory). Overnight at hotel.
Day11 - Jaipur
Enjoy a royal breakfast at hotel. Then guided excursion to the majestic
Amber Fort - the erstwhile capital of the Kachwahas Rajputs before they
moved to their newly built capital in Jaipur. This is the only fort where
one can still go by the elephant back even today like a Maharaja. Evening
at leisure for enjoying the real charm of this royal city to stroll in the
local bazaars to see some handicrafts and artisans. Overnight at hotel.
Day12 - Jaipur - Agra
Breakfast at hotel. Then proceed to Agra via Fatepur Sikri; a World Heritage
Site. Assisted by a guide visit this world famous complex of monuments and
temples built in a uniform architectural style. After lunch drive onto Agra,
the seat of the great Mughal rulers for ages. Agra is a treasure trove for
all the tourists from India and abroad. Even though Agra is synonymous with
the Taj, the city stands in testimony to the great amount of architectural
activity of the Mughals. On arrival transfer to the hotel. Evening visit
bazaar (shopping area). Overnight at hotel.
Day13 - Agra - Gwalior
After breakfast, visited the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal
of Agra is a monument built by emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of her wife
Mumtaz Mahal while the Agra Fort was built by Emperor Akbar. Built with
red sandstone the Fort is a mixture of the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture.
After Lunch proceed to Gwalior. Check into hotel. Evening free for leisure.
Overnight at hotel.
Day14 - Gwalior - Orchha
After breakfast, a half-day guided programme of the Gwalior Fort built in
the 15th century by Raja Mansingh Tomar on a hilltop that overlooks the
city. Also within the fort premises are located the Man Mandir, Gujari Mahal,
Teli-ka-Mandir, the Sas-Bahu temples and the chhatris. Late afternoon drive
to Orchha. Overnight at hotel.
Day15 - Orchha - Delhi
After breakfast, a half-day guided programme of Orchha. Orchha was the erstwhile
capital city of the Bundela rulers. The town is steeped in history and is
famous for its palaces and temples built in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Visit Jahangir Mahal, Rajmahal and Phool Bagh. In the afternoon, drive to
Jhansi to catch a train to Delhi. Arrive late evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day16 - Delhi
After breakfast, depending on flight schedule transfer to Airport for flight
to onward destination.
